Waiting on Wednesday...on a Thursday

Entwined by Heather Dixon
Comes out with HarperTeen Greenwillow Books.
March 29th, 2011

Azalea and her younger sisters dance in the mysterious silver forest every
night, escaping from the sadness of the palace and their father’s grief. What
they don’t understand—although as time passes they begin to get an inkling of
the danger they are in—is that the mysterious and dashing Keeper is tightening
his snare with deadly purpose. Luckily, Azalea is brave and steadfast. Luckily,
a handsome young army captain also has his eye on Azalea. . . . Lush, romantic,
and compelling, this debut novel by Heather Dixon will thrill fans of Shannon
Hale, Robin McKinley, and Edith Pattou
I.Am.So.Excited. If you didn't know, The 12 Dancing Princesses is my all-time favorite fairy tale so retellings of it get me really, really excited. Also, Azalea is a cool name and she sounds like she'll be an awesome heroine. I wonder how they're gonna pull off having 12 sisters and me actually....trying to remember them all (which is something that irked me about Princess of the Midnight Ball) but i'm soooo excited. And that cover....that cover is divine.

Happy Reading!

Waiting on Wednesday :)

WITHER, the first book in The Chemical Garden Trilogy, is due to be out in 2011 by Simon and Schuster Books for Young Readers.

What if you knew exactly when you would die?

Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb—males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.
When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by
the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape—to find her twin brother and go home.

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant she trusts, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limted time she has left.

~~~
This book sound SOOOOOOO good! I mean, forced marriage, trying to escape, and a father going crazy to find a cure. AND I have the feeling that servant might be serving us up a love triangle! And you know how much I love those! OH OH, and the cover?! Insanely pretty! Between HarperTeen's 2011 releases and now S&S, my bookshelf is gonna be FULL of beautiful covers!
The day: EPIC ZOMBIE POST
Yesterday, I entered a war with Sarah from Sarah's Random Musing because she's Team Unicorn. I am (of course) TEAM ZOMBIE all the way!
10 Reasons to be Team Zombie:
1) Zombies have the awesomist movies ever. I mean, theres a wiki naming every Zombie movie ever. You know what happens when you look up Unicorn movies? The Last Unicorn. One measly movie. No wonder it was the last unicorn *shakes head*
2) When your obsessed about something, they call you a ____-zombie. Blogging-zombie, swag-zombie, reading-zombie, computer-zombie. They don't call you a Computer-unicorn. Cuz that's be lame.
3) Zombies even have COOL RELATIVES. Zombies have mummy cousins, which are totally cool. Unicorns cousins? Horses. Bo-ringggg!
4) Zombies can have there arms fall off and STILL LIVE. Sure Unicorns can heal themselves, but that takes a while people! And if a Unicorn's leg falls it, it's screwed!
5) Think about this: Zombies are kick-butt in movies, books, and real life too! Unicorns? They're only kick-butt in Rampant by Diana Peturfruend. Besides that? There's a reason they're extinct.
6) Zombies are in the Thriller music video! What music video are unicorns in for ages 8+?
7) Zombies can be versitale. Scary and friendly. Unicorns can just look magestic. What's the fun in that?
8) Zombies can dance (See point 6) > unicorns can trot around.
9) There are awesome books about zombies too! Hello, Forest of Hands and Teeth?
10) I'm in it, Libba Bray, Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson, Carrie
Ryan, and Scott Westerfeld are Team Zombie too!
Did that convince you? Still a Unibie? It's okay, I'll still be your friend!
BUT ZOMBIES RULE!
Peace out and Happy Reading
Beautiful Darkness
Kami Garcia & Margeret Stohl
October 12th
h
summary: Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world that had been hidden in plain sight all along. A Gatlin that harbored ancient secrets beneath its moss-covered oaks and cracked sidewalks. A Gatlin where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful supernaturals for generations. A Gatlin where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen. Sometimes life-ending. Together they can face anything Gatlin throws at them, but after suffering a tragic loss, Lena starts to pull away, keeping secrets that test their relationship. And now that Ethan's eyes have been opened to the darker side of Gatlin, there's no going back. Haunted by strange visions only he can see, Ethan is pulled deeper into his town's tangled history and finds himself caught up in the dangerous network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, where nothing is as it seems.
This is gonna be awesomely amazing. Seriously. Because Beautiful Creatures was awesomely amazing, so obviously this shall be the same! Or maybe, maybeeeee even better! It's at BEA, if any of you people are there (I wish I was), so snatch it up if you can!
Maggie Stiefvater
Linger
July 20th
summary: In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.
Oh. My. God. I cannot be the only one excited about this book. Because seriously, Maggie is a freakin' amazing writer. Like her words made me laugh and cry and think 'Oh my god, i'll never ever be this amazing'. Anyway, Sam and Grace's relationship goes to new lengths and now instead of it being just Sam and Grace's POV, it's also Isabel's and a new guy werewolf, Cole. I know all of you are thinking it's gonna be confusing but I know Maggie will pull it off in an amazing way. Go you, Mags! And just saying, she's an awesome person.
Sister's Red
Jackson Pearce
June 7th
summary: For Scarlett and Rosie March, the world is not what it seems. Werewolves, called Fenris, live among them in the form of good-looking men who prey on pretty young girls. When a Fenris attacked the March girls, it killed their grandmother and left them emotionally and, for Scarlett, physically scarred. Since then, they have taken action and revenge. With the help of a friend, Silas, the girls are on a mission—to destroy as many Fenris as they can. This goal becomes more complicated when they try to unravel the mystery behind the pack and prevent the next "Potential" from transforming fully into a soulless, evil monster. Pearce is on the mark with this modern-day retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Told by the sisters in alternating chapters, this well-written, high-action adventure grabs readers and never lets go. Rosie and Scarlett are true heroines; smart, tough, and determined, but their special bond is put to test when Rosie and Silas's relationship becomes more than just friendship. A satisfying read with a fantastic cover
This is already in stock at bookstores! Go ravage your B&N and see if it's there, it's not at mine yet :P But this story is gonna be so awesomesauce. Hehe, and also Jackson Pearce is so amazing. I mean, she vlogs every Tuesday to talk to us little people about writing and disco people and editing and publishing and fodder! She's so helpful and sweet and funny! I'm happy to know her, even if it is virtually. :)
